Description

This course provides introduction and overview of sustainable and green finance to understand the process of incorporating environmental, social, and governance (ESG) as well as climate change risk into corporate decision and investment decision.

 The lecture, class discussions, daily student report, a group project and presentation, and final exam will analyse recent developments in financial instruments as well as investment strategies that incorporate ESG criteria, sustainability, and the impact on climate change according to the Intergovernmental Panel for Climate Change (IPCC) and how these instruments are aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs) are highlighted.

This course also provides students’ hands-on experience to work on a group project and presentation analysing a company or a topic related to green finance and providing thoughtful opportunities and challenges for corporations and investing stakeholder to play significant roles in fostering actions toward protecting earth from climate change and achieving the Paris Agreement and 17 goals of the UN SDGs.
